Guided by the educational philosophy of "strengthening professional skills training and emphasizing practical teaching to foster students' innovation and entrepreneurship capabilities," we have established a refined open practical teaching model that seamlessly integrates "learning and performance," transitioning students smoothly "from classroom to stage."

With a teaching area of over 4,000 square meters, it boasts more than 100 practice rooms, and is equipped with a concert hall, a lecture hall, a dance rehearsal hall, an orchestral rehearsal hall, a panoramic digital audio lab, a recording studio, classrooms for pop music (vocal and instrumental performance), multimedia classrooms, and digital piano classrooms.

There are 45 full-time instructors, including 17 professors and associate professors. Among them, 10 holds doctoral degrees, and 10 serve as master's degree supervisors. Faculty members have earned titles such as "Excellent Young Scientific and Innovative Talent in Jilin Province Higher Education," "C-Class High-Level Talent (Department-Level Leading Talent) in Jilin Province," "Top-notch Innovative Talent in Jilin Province," and " Outstanding Contribution Expert in Jilin Province."

The School has established six practical performance teams including a symphony orchestra for teachers and students, a student choir, a dance troupe, a pop band, an A Cappella vocal ensemble, and a choir for visually impaired students called "Voice of Heart," which lead extracurricular practical teaching.

In 2019, the School was approved as a master's degree authorization site in the arts. In 2022, it was approved as a provincial graduate workstation. In 2023, it was approved to rename its master's degree authorization site specifically for music, which now includes three research directions: vocal music, piano performance, and pop music.

In 2023, the course "Performance Practice and Weekly Concert" was approved as a national first-class course, and in 2022, the Music Performance program was approved as a first-class program construction site in Jilin Province. The "Weekly Concert" program has previously won the "Outstanding Achievement Award in Campus Culture Construction" by the Ministry of Education.

The School has published more than 20 academic monographs and textbooks, and has published 136 papers, with 39 in core journals. Faculty members have led or participated in 118 research projects, with a total funding of 4.39 million yuan. Students have won over 70 national, provincial, and departmental-level awards.
