    Changchun University was established through the merger of Jilin Electromechanical College, Changchun Polytechnic, Changchun Foreign Languages College, Jilin University of Science and Technology, and Jilin Forestry College.

    The Jilin Mining and Metallurgy College was established through the merger of the Department of Mining and Metallurgy of Jilin Polytechnical University and Jilin Institute of Technology.

    In 1955, Changchun Industrial Planning and Economics School was formed through the merger of Jilin Finance and Economics School and Jinan Industrial Economics School.
