The School offers a Master’s degree program in Materials Engineering and is recognized as a Provincial Advantageous Characteristic Discipline in Materials Science and Engineering in Jilin Province.

There are currently 24 full-time instructors, including 7 professors, 11 associate professors. Among them, 18 holds doctoral degrees. The faculty includes 1 recipient of the New Century Excellent Talent Award by the Ministry of Education, 3 top-notch innovative talents in Jilin Province, 2 outstanding contribution expert in Jilin Province, and 1 Sprout Talents in in Scientific Research from Jilin Province universities. There are 2 C-level, 4 D-level, and 9 E-level talents in Jilin Province. Faculty members also serve as directors and committee members in various provincial and ministerial academic societies, with a total of 10 instances of involvement.

Over the past five years, the School’s faculty has published 101 academic papers, including 67 indexed by SCI, EI, and other databases. The faculty has also been granted 31 patents, including both invention and utility model patents. The research achievements have received 9 provincial and higher-level scientific research awards, including 3 second prizes and 2 third prizes from the Jilin Province Natural Science Awards, as well as a third prize in the Jilin Province Natural Science Academic Achievement Awards.

The School currently has a Materials Design and Quantum Simulation Laboratory in Jilin Province, which has established five research platforms: the Material Chemistry Synthesis and Analysis Platform, the Thin Film Material Performance Testing Platform, the Quantum Secure Communication Technology Experiment Platform, the Nanomaterial Functional Materials and Green Energy Experiment Platform, and the Materials Computational Simulation and Modeling Platform. Additionally, there are 22 off-campus practice bases.

In the last five years, students have earned 6 Jilin Province Excellent Master’s Theses. They have also actively participated in academic and innovation competitions, winning 5 national-level and more than 10 provincial-level awards.
