The discipline of Applied Economics has been recognized as a Jilin Province High-Level Advantageous Characteristic B-Class Construction Discipline. The School offers a Master of Finance professional degree program and hosts one Provincial First-Class Program Construction Site, one Provincial High-Level Advantageous Characteristic Program, and one Provincial Class-A Program.

There are currently 38 full-time instructors, including 6 professors and 17 associate professors. Among them, 21 hold doctoral degrees, 12 have overseas study or research experience, and 22 serve as master's supervisors. The faculty includes one Provincial Advanced Individual in Teacher Ethics, one provincial distinguished teacher, one provincial outstanding teacher, one provincial D-Level talent, and 14 provincial E-Level talents.

In recent years, faculty members have undertaken over 100 provincial and higher-level teaching and research projects, conducted more than 20 industry-sponsored research projects, published over 200 academic papers, and authored more than 30 academic monographs. The School has received over 10 awards, including the Jilin Province Outstanding Achievement Award in Social Sciences, and multiple research reports have been adopted by government agencies, receiving instructions from provincial and ministerial leaders.

The School currently houses one provincial experimental teaching demonstration center, three laboratories, and three research platforms, along with over 30 off-campus internship and practice bases.

It offers one provincial-level first-class course, one provincial-level demonstration course for entrepreneurship education reform, one provincial-level "Golden Course," four provincial-level quality and excellent courses, one provincial-level demonstration course for ideological and political education teaching reform, one provincial-level course for ideological and political education construction, 15 university-level brand and excellent courses, and 4 university-level demonstration courses for ideological and political education reform.

The school has developed seven distinctive education brand programs, including "Economics and Economic Affairs," "Economic Hotspot Salon," "Finance Case Study Lecture Series," "Professional Development and Cultivation Program," "Entrepreneurship and Innovation Salon," "Economic Academic Forum," and "Innovation Workshop". Students have won 73 national-level awards and 126 provincial-level awards, with some being honored as "Innovation Star" and "Entrepreneurship Star" in Jilin Province.
