2024-12-07 14:30:01The School of Liberal Arts offers two undergraduate programs: Chinese Language and Literature and Network and New Media. It boasts eight provincial-level first-class and quality courses.
There are 68 full-time and part-time instructors, including 12 professors and 38 associate professors. Among them, 47 hold doctoral degrees, and 39 serve as master’s supervisors. The faculty also includes two members of the China Writers Association, five national-level Putonghua Proficiency Test trainer and examiner, and one expert from the Office of Educational Supervision of the State Council and the State Language Commission (SLC).
Over the past five years, faculty members have led over 80 national and provincial-level research and teaching projects, published more than 100 academic papers, and authored 15 academic monographs. The School has secured 12 national-level high-level humanities and social sciences projects, including those funded by the National Social Science Fund, the Ministry of Education’s Humanities and Social Sciences Program, and the China Language Resources Protection Project.
The School operates several key research platforms, including a National Network Culture Research Center, Jilin Provincial Cultural Industry Research Base, Jilin Provincial Network Culture Research Base, Jilin Provincial Key Research Base in Social Sciences, Jilin Provincial Research Base for Cultivating Cultural Innovation Talents, and the Jilin Provincial Base for the Inheritance of Outstanding Traditional Chinese Culture. It also hosts an open academic lecture platform, the "Cultural Creativity Forum," recognized as an Outstanding Social Science Popularization Base in Jilin Province.
The School actively collaborates with over 60 enterprises and institutions, including Jilin Daily Newspaper Group, Jilin People's Publishing House, Jilin Internet Media Co., Ltd., and Jilin Education TV. Additionally, it has established Modern Industry Academy of Integrated Media and Creative Industries at Changchun University.
The School places great emphasis on cultivating students' awareness and abilities in innovation and entrepreneurship. Students have received 48 national-level innovation project awards and over a hundred provincial-level honors. Notably, a student won first prize in the First "Poetry, Calligraphy, Rites, and Music" National College Student Hosting Competition, and students have secured more than ten provincial-level awards in the National Advertising Art Design Competition for College Student (DAKANG).
